❋ Where will the training be located? The entire course will take place at SWEATFORM Pilates studio in Orem, UT.
❋ What training is this? This is the STOTT PILATES® Intensive Mat-Plus™2nd Edition (IMP II) Course which will cover beginner and intermediate level mat exercises as well as postural analysis and anatomy. It is a level one course that will give you an introduction to STOTT Pilates training. This course offers mat training only and will not train you in any other apparatus, including reformer.
❋ What will we go over in the Intensive Reformer Course?Essential and Intermediate Mat Exercises
Stott Pilates Principles
Theory and practice of postural analysis

Effective use of mat and other props
Verbal cueing and imagery
Effective communication and observational skills
How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises.
❋ What is the cost?Full tuition is $1,550, manuals not included. There are 3 total manuals required for the course - the Beginner/Intermediate Mat Manual ($80), and the Support Manual ($35, not required if you’ve already completed reformer). The manuals can be purchased from BlackBox prior to the start of the course.
The final payment is due four weeks before the course begins, unless a payment plan is already in place. Typically the payment plan will be completed the month the course starts.
❋ Are payment plans are available? Yes! BlackBox can set up a payment plan. You can set it up monthly or bi-monthly. Please inquire with Kris at info@blackboxpilates.com.
❋ Who can sign up?Anyone! There are no previous requirements for this training. However, it is highly recommended to have taken at least 30+ hours of pilates classes/workouts. Previous knowledge of anatomy and physiology is helpful, but not required.
❋ What dates are the training? The training is spread out over 2 non-consecutive long weekends. All dates are required for completion of the training. Each day of training will have one 30 minute break given.

The deposit is $310, which is 20% of the full amount of the course and goes towards the total cost of the course. The deposit is nonrefundable but can be transferred to a future course up until 4 weeks before the course begins. The deposit cannot be transferred to another person.
❋ How many spots are available? There are only 12 spots available for this reformer course. This is a predetermined limit that STOTT places on each training, so we unfortunately cannot accommodate more. We are able to put you on a waitlist if all spots are full, but placement in the training from the waitlist cannot be guaranteed.
Short answer, yes. Long answer, the course itself will be 40 hours of instruction and supervised training. After the course, there will be 10 hours of observation, 30 hours of physical review, and 15 hours of practice teaching required for certification totaling 95 hours. Immediately after the course, you are a “trained reformer Pilates instructor.” After all of the required practice hours are completed and you take and pass your certification tests, then you’re a “certified reformer Pilates instructor.”
The specific hours that are required, as well as how to achieve these hours, will be discussed during the course so any further questions can be answered by Kris.
❋ Are there hours required after the training is completed?PLEASE NOTE: Attendance in this training does not guarantee a spot as an instructor at either SWEATFORM Pilates or BlackBox Pilates Co.
